In 2009, the Acne Atacoma wedge platform shoe started popping up on several fashion blogs (excluding mine) as the new must-have IT shoe. The extreme wedge with mirrored bottom stole the hearts of many--even girls who would otherwise never think to dress in something so glam rock and KISS-worthy. That is what I would call a phenomenon. Personally, I'm a little trend-a-phobic, but I have to admit the shoe's appeal--especially the ivory colored ones, which I find a little less recognizably IT than the black and silver pair. However, there's nothing wrong with wearing a phenomenal shoe. And if it makes you a fashion victim, so what?
