Bittersweets NY – Sweet Maggots

Bittersweets NY is a Brooklyn-based indie jewelry company that makes a point of showing the beauty in everyday things. You know, like ...MAGGOTS!!!

Maggot Charms - Available in white, rose, or yellow gold and silver. $60 - $225
These are specially hand-crafted so every one is different, like a snowflake. I like the statement of one single maggot hanging from a chain on one's collarbone. It's like, "Oh, what's that?" ::looks closer:: ::recoils in horror::

And if you like those, you may also be interested in the Earthworm Bracelet.

  1. You know, this is like something my boyfriend would like and buy for me. But I’d be too freaked out to use them. Haha

  2. That’s so questionable and creepy and gross and cool!

  3. I think they become alive when you wear them :P

  4. I will be honest – I think I’d ooh and ahh if I saw them on someone else, but I don’t think I’d wear the maggot charms! But the earthworm bracelet…I actually really like it. It’s so…oddly elegant.

  5. Maggots scare me!

  6. Don’t think I can get into the maggots…but the earthworm bracelet…That’s another story!

  7. oh my!! they are pretty cool, but i can’t see it on me!

  8. i don’t know why…but i kind of want that earthworm. creeeeepy.

  9. Oh wow! I’ve never seen anything like it in my life:D The bracelet is kind of cool!

  10. I’ve loved that earthworm bracelet for a while now, sigh, it’s just so simple and unique!

  11. Lol… I’m actually a little surprised the maggots aren’t going over better than this. What–you guys don’t like little wriggly fly foetuses that eat dead things? ;)
At least, the gumption is admirable.

  12. Definitely different. But quirky and I like it!

  13. Sweeeeet. I especially like that bracelet. It’d look SO very normal from not too close up!

  14. Maggots totally creep me out, but for some reason, when cast in metal, they are a little more appealing. Bittersweets NY always has the strangest but most intriguing jewels.

  15. Definitly maggots – ewwww.
But still, as Chelsea already said, cast in metal – kinda nice.

  16. This weblog seems to recieve a great deal of visitors. How do you advertise it? It gives a nice unique spin on things. I guess having something real or substantial to give info on is the most important thing.
