What I Wore To Chicago
![]()
Basically, pajamas!
- Super-soft snuggly long-sleeved shirt - vogel10
- Navy fishnet fingerless gloves - eBay
- Beaded necklace with antique key - a little souvenir ship in Chloride, AZ
- Dimepiece road map leggings - New Amendment Clothing, Los Angeles
- 80%20 Molly mesh shoes - Karmaloop
We left early Saturday morning with the intention of sleeping in the van on the way there. I wanted to wear something that would be comfortable for the 8-hour drive, but still look cool for padding around Chicago. These cartography leggings from NA Clothing seemed like the perfect choice! Not only are they very comfortable and pajama-like, but they feature a road map of the Los Angeles area--very fitting for a road trip. I like how the striped top clashes with chaotic lines of the leggings. It's sort of nautical, right? Plus, it's so comfy! It feels like an old hand-me-down I used to have.

I was eager to wear these awesome new 80%20 Molly mesh shoes, but unfortunately Chicago weather (sideways snow and sleet!) deemed I cover up my toes with Doc Marten's. The silhouette is similar, though. How awesome are these shoes?! I can't wait to wear them again. They're part of the 80%20 2010 Spring collection available at Karmaloop. You guys have to subscribe to their blog if you haven't already. It's seriously one of the best sources for the newest stuff from all the coolest brands. I highly recommend it! Oh, and by the way, would you like a free pair of 80%20 shoes?

We got to Chicago with enough time to check out some record shops and used book stores before the show. Also, we got some really yummy Thai at a restaurant next to Reckless Records. The show was so sick! Shellac opened for The Ex, and it was by far one of the best shows I've ever experienced. I didn't bring my camera, but you can see a few pics taken with my cell phone here at my Twitpics account.
This video is The Ex performing a different show last month, but you get the idea. Can you listen to this without shaking your head or moving your body in some way? I can't!

Those leggings are INSANE. In the best possible way. I thought they were the London tube map because that’s branded on everything, but that is such an awesome idea!
