The J Word

I'm not offended by the word jeggings--it's whatever. The only compound word that offends me is cankles, and that's only because it's just another insult invented to oppress women. Just sayin'! I've got to tell you that these jeggings are the most comfortable pair of pants that have ever graced my legs. Wait! No, I take that back, they're maybe 2nd to a pair of wide-leg worn-in gauze pants I used to sleep in. I swear to you, when I first put on these jeggings (by Hudson), I thought, "Oh spit, I should have asked for a size smaller," (I'm not afraid to cuss, I just really say "oh spit" sometimes. Also: "balls.") because they weren't squeezing me the way one would expect. They felt loose, like they were just barely hanging on. I kept thinking they were about to fall off, but they didn't. I asked my boyfriend, "Do you think these are a little too big?" And I'm not making this up, he said, "No, they look really tight. Like, uncomfortably tight." They don't feel tight at all. You almost can't feel them! It's like walking around wearing nothing, only warmer! True and factual.

Vintage blouse - This was my mother's when she was younger. I adore the print, and "borrowed" it back when I was a teenager.

Via Christa Chains necklace worn as bracelet - I love this because it has sections so you can mix it up. Via Christa does some amazing work. You should definitely have a look at their site, or maybe I'll do a post soon and show you what I mean.

Hudson jeggings - I have been living in these all week! Incredibly comfortable, and flattering, too.

I think the idea of jeggings appeal to me – if they fit the way you described your pair! I have definitely seen some that are unflattering – perhaps because they don’t have the right amount of give. Also, I love those shoes with that outfit, it’s a fun touch!

I agree about cankles…someone said on my blog that I have cankles (when in fact I have a disability) which was very mean. People just want another thing to make people feel bad about themselves…what a world.
