Here's an outfit from a few weeks ago that I forgot to post. I wore it to see some local underground legends at an appropriately underground venue. Has anyone seen Trash Humpers by Harmony Korine? I haven't yet, but it stars some of Nashville's best. (Not sarcasm. I am rarely ever sarcastic.) Netflix won't carry it. Ha!!

My friend went and saw Trash Humpers in the cinema here is Australia, and said that 90% of the audience left pretty quickly.
I like this ensemble a lot – I like how the crazy print of the leggings and the boots draws your attention – while up top the ensemble is more relaxed.

Do not watch trash humpers. I saw it 2 nights ago and I’m still having terrible flashbacks to what I saw. But then I again I haven’t liked any of the director’s films. Maybe if you like Gummo, then this movie will be more up your ally.
Vint Junky – He did a series similar to these leggings a long time ago like when I was a kid or before me, but using warm earthy colors, golds. The same pattern of cunieform looking shapes making egg shapes in the negative space. He’s an artist by profession so that could explain my creative streak.

DessyO – It does look pretty excruciating but I’m definitely curious to see it since I’m acquainted with the actors and they seriously are some of Nashville’s underground legendary musicians. I do more-or-less like Gummo and also Julian Donkey Boy. I’ve never seen KIDS because everyone else has seen it and no one wants to watch it again. No opinion on that one but the others I respect as art. Oh I also saw the recent one about the Michael Jackson impersonator, I forget what it’s called. I liked it all right as well. Harmony Korine is a big fan of Werner Herzog, who is my favorite director (I always feel pretentious saying that but it’s absolutely true). So of course I love his collaborating with Herzog and can appreciate the art of what he does. That said, I did not like that Proenza Schouler ad and found it offensive.

I am a big Harmony Korine fan and a fan of transgressive art in general, so I’ve been dying to see Trash Humpers since I first heard of it a year or so ago. I might send an email to my friend who works at a local indie theater and see if I can’t beg him to find a copy…

Danielle – Target is so great. There are no H&Ms or Ikeas here but at least there are Targets. Is there an equivalent in Canada (like Primark in the UK is pretty equivalent, right?)?
