NYE 2011

New Year's Outfit

This is what I wore to celebrate the new year. I went with some buddies downtown to watch the fireworks and "the Guitar" (Nashville's version of the apple or the ball) drop over the Cumberland River. There was also a riverside concert with a contemporary country musician playing, I have no idea who it was--I only listen to classic country. Whoever it was, he hilariously played Billy Joel's "Piano Man" at midnight. It was deliciously lame and surreal in the best way! Then we went to a disgustingly over-crowded club in tourist central and proceeded to dance, dance, dance on broken glass before ending the night back in our locals hangout. I almost forgot to mention it was unseasonably end-of-the-worldly warm and pouring rain. I never thought I'd be running around downtown Nashville in shirt sleeves, soaked with rain on New Year's night and not cold at all--and not because I was too drunk to feel anything but because it was 70 degrees! Mahalo. Happy 2011!

On New Year's, as on every day, the more glitter and sequins the better!
