I Love My… Ugly Fugly Socks!

I found these socks at a random bodega in Philadelphia. They were the ugliest pair on the rack, so of course I had to adopt them!
Rock out with your ugly socks out!
They're gray with pink leopard spots, red roses, and bright green leaves. They're absolutely hideous--and I love that about them. It's like what my grandmother used to say about the Olsen twins when they were children: "They're so ugly they're cute!"
A bunch of ugly socks, just hangin' out.

I actually thought it was a picture of agnes deyn!

  3. Yummy – Thank you! They need all the love they can get, the poor things. :D

  4. Thanks for your comment in my blog.

Those socks are awesome, they’re the kind I’d wear under my business pants to boost my confidence before giving a conference.

    Kisses.

  5. Ha ha they are ugly! But I love them. They look great with that dress!

  6. Haha
    it’s floral, it’s animal print
    seemingly two trendy things
    but TOGETHER… it’s an explosion

  7. They are hideous in a wonderful way. Once you paired them with the dress they suddenly just worked somehow!

  8. Julie – I do that too! Well, I did when I actually had a reason to wear business suits. ;]

Lady Smaggle – Hehe, thank you!

    Dana – I admit they’re a little “projectile.” lol…

Ayesha – A little black dress can do wonders. ;)

  9. Your hair is simply perfection – the loveliest shade of blond!

Anyway, getting to the point, love the ugly socks AND the shoes. Super cool

  10. I love your socks, especially the ones with the blue dragons! They definitely work with the black dress. I love socks too, reminds me of my favourite sock store, http://www.sock-dreams.com (not my store and I have nothing to do with them, I just like them and their great socks :) )

  11. reaaly fun, but on you are kind a cool!

    a kiss!

  12. Ida – Thank you! I just got those shoes last week and I’m in that honeymoon phase where I can’t wear anything else. :D

    Kirafashion – *mwah* Thanks!

  13. They may be ugly but I’m loving the way you’re workin’ them. Hot dress, by the way.

  14. The Socks are hilarious! i love finding crazy shit at convenience stores in Australia. I wish i could call it a bodega but nobody here would know what I was talking about unless they’d seen “half baked”!!! Anyway, i just stumbled upon your blog as i was doing a search on bessemer melamine cos i’m selling some on ebay. Your blog is great, i’m pretty much into the same stuff and around the same age – in Australia. I’m going to put your blog on my daily reads list, check mine out if you like. I only started it 2 days ago after lurking and reading so many good ones over the past year. Rachael :)

  15. OMG, I love ugly socks! My aunt always sends me the ugliest socks she can find from Korea every year. I have ones with bunny faces, monkey faces, bells dangling on them for Christmas… all ugly sock haters can kiss it!

  16. Katie – Thanks! Ugly socks have to work harder than pretty socks. ;)

Rachael – Your blog shows a lot of promise! (I want you to know I accidentally typed “shoes” instead of “shows.” Oh dear…)

Miss A. – That’s awesome! These may have come from Korea, actually. I have no idea. Bodega socks are mysterious!

  17. Haha, those are some crazy, crazy socks, but they’re adorable! I think they fit under the category ‘So wrong they’re RIGHT’ :) Very cute!

  18. Miss Corinne – Thanks! These socks defy logic! lol…

  19. Superb socks !

  20. the “It’s like what my grandmother used to say about the Olsen twins when they were children: “They’re so ugly they’re cute!” part had me cracking up because its so true….LOL

  21. Those socks are great! I would have adopted them too. :)

  22. Thanks for all the comments on my blog!! I LOVE crazy socks too, in fact, i’d say 80% of my socks are weird as in stripes, hearts, argyle and other weirder things. It all started because I love them thin and tight and those type are usually the right fit, not to mention WAY more fun!

    :)

  23. Guirec, Jahaute, and Lesley – Thanks! :D

Jocelyne – You’re welcome! Crazy socks ftw!

  24. Ooooh I love em too!

Thanks for hanging out over at sushi zume

    Wishes from Tokyo,
    d
    xx

  25. I don’t think they are ugly at all. They give you character.

  26. Sushi – Thanks and double thanks for the Tokyo wishes!

    Marisol – Thanks!

  27. i love socks like this – they are so much fun to wear! i think they are really a great accessory – who would have thought?? haha mine always end up with holes though…maybe i need a better quality?

    -Harlequin

  28. Harlequin – Not to sound gross, but sometimes longish toenails can make holes. Lol, I don’t mean any insult to your toes! Not freakishly long just you know, kinda longish. ;]

  29. Oh Annie!

I LOVE a good ugly sock.

My favourites are ones that my mama brought back from Canada for me – black with neon maple leaves printed on them. I also have a great pair from South Africa with safari animals!

When I travel to Italy and the UK next month I’m going to be collecting as many pairs as I can! Any requests? What about a pair Pisa with the Leaning Tower?

Thanks for visiting my blog which, in turn, introduced me to yours! Keep up the good work!
