Good Year For The Roses – Seneca Rising Fall 2010

Seneca Rising Fall 2010

The new collection from Seneca Rising once again brings the romance for ex-tomboys. Soft, modern florals (as opposed to 90's "Grandma's Couch" florals, which have their own appeal) and doodling swirls coincide peacefully with pieces that whisper a subtle military inspiration.

Seneca Rising Fall 2010

I absolutely love the pixelated embroidery-esque rose print with a gray background that was revealed on the Seneca Rising flickr account back in January with a preview hint of possible fabrics. It's very signature Seneca Rising--muted, rainy day florals.

When I saw that preview, the gray rose print immediately stood out to me as the best one. I'm definitely pleased it made it into the collection. It's a good year for the roses!

More photos from the Seneca Rising Fall 2010 lookbook can be found here on the Seneca Rising blog. While you go check it out, listen to this video of Elvis Costello covering the George Jones' classic, "Good Year For The Roses," because it's great.

What's your favorite piece from the collection?

  2. ahh i want to touch that fabric! i’m not a huuuge fan of florals, but these ones look divine.

  3. I’m a big fan of florals & I really like the modern twist with the pixilation on this fabric.
This feels very early 90s to me, grungy & romantic…lovely!
    …xXx

  4. I usually like my florals to be VERY “90′s Grandma’s Couch” – but that grey is pretty amazing :D

I like the fourth image – the yellow shirt/dress over the grey bodysuit – WIN!!!

    Xx

  5. I love the chartreuse nail polish (I had a Sally Hansen version when I was 11) and the faux-bois print and Elvis Costello!

  6. cool! i love this look :)

  7. Love these florals (but then I love almost all florals) these are really different though and not too girly. I love the tights, socks shoes combo in the last picture, I will have to try this out.

  8. i liked the tiny little skirt most… and of course the yelloe leggings! :)

  9. More socks with shoes! I should just accept this trend. Haha. Loving the florals.

  10. Yes yes, pretty pretty. The pixelated flower prints are super fab.

  11. Great song choice! And glad florals are still around and evolving.

  14. Calamityjem – That’s an interesting interpretation :)

Grant – I’ve got nothin against Grandma’s florals. I came of age in the 90′s. ;) xx

Danielle – Sally has a lime green one you should check out. You made me google “bois print”! Learn something new every day :)

StyleEyes – Exactly! That’s why I love Seneca Rising. “Not too girly.”

All Women Stalker – I hear you. I’m contemplating snipping the toes off a pair of socks to play along with the trend without having stockinged toes peep out of peep-toes. It’s just wrong! But… why not… I suppose…

prettyneons – Thank you so much! xoxx

Everyone – Thanks for all your comments! xxx
