Dye A T-Shirt
![]()
Check out this t-shirt I dyed (with a special appearance by Wesley the Weenie)! I'm so happy with how it came out! Here's how I did it:
I took a plain white t-shirt and a box of black Rit dye. I wadded the t-shirt up in a ball and wrapped rubber bands all around it like so. Then I followed the directions on the Rit package! It was pretty easy.

The rubber bands made a cool wire fence effect, and I love the clouded effect from wadding up the shirt--it looks lavender, gray, and black now! Very cool... I love it. I want to make more now.

Jordana – Thanks! Aw.. Weenies rule
mermaid – Oh, you can buy Rit dye anywhere around here. Are you not in the US (I forget)? Any old fabric dye will do. Check your grocery where the laundry detergent is.

I love this. I have a few white american apparel v neck shirts that I can’t wait to dye now. Did you use the bottle dye and did you use the whole bottle? Just afraid I’m going to end up with a black shirt.
WOW! My kind of tee–love it. You should experiment with different colors and sell them, seriously.
