Vivienne Westwood began selling her designs in a shop in the 1970's. She hooked up a romantic relationship with the Sex Pistols manager, the Sex Pistols wore her designs to their first gig, and a punk fashion movement was begun! Westwood's designs draw inspiration from traditional Scottish plaid tartans, Elizabethan forms, and fetish bondage gear such as chains and leather. It's easy to see how her concepts have greatly influenced punk rocker fashion. Her designs have evolved since those early days, but she is still known for doing her own thing and creating unique, stunning pieces.
