A Dries Van Noten Inspired Pedicure

Dries Van Noten Beaded Summer 08 High Heel Shoes
.
These Dries Van Noten sandals are so intriguing... I wanted to see if I could translate their abstract design to nail polish.
Ready to see how my experiment turned out?
(Fair warning: I'm no foot model!)
Here goes ~

.

Ta da!

They turned out a bit more Benetton than Dries Van Noten, LOL... But I really love the way they look--very artsy. I don't usually go for "nail art," but these look very interesting and somewhat sophisticated for being multicolor nails. Futuristic, even!
I didn't buy any special nail polish. I just went with what I had already in my collection. If you're curious, I used:
Layer one: BonBons - Lemon Drop
Layer two: Petites - Gold Star (which wasn't gold enough at first so I started over with the yellow underneath)
Layer three: NYC - Denim, Revlon - Mudslide, Sally Hansen - Chrome, NYC - Red
Layer four - I added some BonBons - Blueberry on top of the dark blue to lighten it up.
.

Are you inspired to make little abstract paintings on your nails? Go for it!
Let me know how it turns out.
I'd love to see what you come up with. :)
